How will changes in electronic securities affect old and emerging business models?
The digital world is changing. Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) becomes reality and will impact existing business models of the financial industry. With the draft law of the German Electronic Securities Act (elektronisches Wertpapiergesetz - eWpG) it will be possible to issue electronic securities instead of today’s paper based securities. However, new technologies and legislations come along with both: potential threats and opportunities.
Deutsche Börse is looking for an assessment of opportunities and threats of this technology & legislation from a capital markets infrastructure provider perspective. Focus should be the impact on IT systems, operations and business model(s).
Effective analysis assessing the threats and opportunities of the upcoming technological change triggered by the German Electronic Securities Act. Describe what the impact will be by providing concrete examples (creativity welcome). Format: PowerPoint (10 slides maximum in main deck, backup/appendix allowed)
